How Much Does a Digital Menu Cost? The Complete Pricing Guide, No Fog

🇨🇿 Číst česky

From free to thousands per month — what a QR menu really costs, where competitors hide their fees, and what you genuinely get for free. Real numbers, no “contact sales”.

When a restaurateur researches digital menus, the first question is always the same — and the market's answers are always equally foggy: "price on request", "custom quote", "talk to sales". So here it is without the fog: what digital menus actually cost, our own prices included.

The three pricing models on the market

  • One-off "PDF service": a designer typesets your menu into a PDF, you hang it behind a QR code. Costs 500–3,000 CZK per typeset — and again for every price change. The most expensive model; it just doesn't look like it upfront.
  • Monthly platform: you manage the menu yourself, changes are instant and free. Czech market prices run from 0 to roughly 1,500 CZK per month depending on features.
  • POS add-on: point-of-sale systems offer menus as a bolt-on. It works, but the menu is the last thing a POS company improves — and leaving the POS means losing your menu with it.

Where "affordable" prices hide their costs

Four places costs hide: a surcharge for every additional language (decisive for tourist-facing venues), item-count limits with an expensive next tier, a "setup fee", and export — if you can't get your data out of a platform, you're not paying for a service, you're paying for captivity.

Our prices, in public

ProMenu has three plans and all of them are on the website, not "on request": Starter free forever (1 menu, 30 dishes, Czech + English, QR codes, PDF export with a watermark), Pro at 119 CZK/month (60 dishes, 20+ languages with automatic translation, AI-enhanced photos, scheduled lunch menus, watermark-free PDF), and Business at 199 CZK/month (300 dishes, SEO dish pages, analytics). An extra language beyond your plan costs 399 CZK per year. No setup fee, no fixed-term contract.

Calculate payback, not price

119 CZK a month is a beer and a half. Against that: zero reprint costs (a typical venue reprints menus 4–12 times a year, hundreds to thousands of crowns annually), higher spend from international guests who finally understand the menu, and time — a price change takes ten seconds from a phone instead of a weekend with a designer. For most venues the digital menu pays for itself with the first menu change.

When free is honestly enough

Honestly: a small café with fifteen items and a Czech-English clientele can run on the free Starter indefinitely. Start paying when you need languages, photos or a scheduled lunch menu. That's exactly why Starter is free — a menu that works is the best advertising we have.
